McKinley – October 2013 Newsletter

Dear McKinley Families,

We are off to a fast start this school year with our 406 students. Special thanks go out to the McKinley PTA for help with beginning of the year activities, to Mrs. Baierl for once again organizing a successful McKinley Mile and to the Safe Routes to School Committee for their continued work toward safe and efficient student drop-off and pick-up.

This month you will have an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher at parent teacher conferences on October 10th, 11th or 15th. The focus of these conferences is to provide you with feedback on your child’s performance thus far, and to highlight your child’s current strengths and areas that are in need of improvement. Following are some of the areas that teachers may be discussing with you: Student’s attendance, social-emotional growth, fall 2013 MAP scores, progress in reading, math, social studies and science and how you can help at home to support the growth and learning of your child. Please remember that my door is always open if you would like to discuss your child’s educational development. You can reach me via e-mail at carterma@wauwatosa.k12.wi.us or by phone at (414)773-1510. Thank You.
