Wauwatosa School District awarded grant for District SRTS Coordinator

The Wauwatosa School District was notified, by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT), Monday that they were awarded partnering funds from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant.  The grant will support hiring a SRTS Coordinator to lead the development of a SRTS plan for each elementary school (11 sites total) and both middle schools, as well as district-wide.  The district has already initiated outreach to the schools not included in the previous SRTS grant through multiple district-wide meetings during the 2013-14 school year.  The SRTS Coordinator will facilitate the creation of a plan that will lay out a SRTS strategy for each of the 12 remaining K-8 schools and for the Wauwatosa School District as a whole and coordinate city- wide SRTS efforts.
